For the application procedure and detailed rates, 　　　please see the link page at the top of this page. 　　　It may be ordered from Amazon.com (U.S.A.) also. 　　 道明寺CD-ROM　「笹のしつく」 　 　 大阪にある尼寺 道明寺の御住職六條照瑞様が、2002年、道明寺の歴史をまとめたCD-ROM を 　　　中世日本研究所（ニューヨーク）に御寄贈くださいました。 　　　このCD-ROM は,、道明寺の歴史、とりわけ明治維新下で神仏分離が進められる中、道明寺の 　　　再建に努めた住職、勧修寺照璟（1845－1899）について、一般の方々に知っていただく目的で 　　　六條照瑞様が製作を依頼されたものです。 　　　1999年、道明寺では、照璟尼の百回忌に百僧供養が執り行われました。 　　　照璟尼の経験した艱難辛苦を今日の尼僧にも伝えるべく、六條照瑞様は、茶道武者小路千家の 　　　大江崇之氏に、照璟尼の日記からの引用を交えて、道明寺の歴史を執筆するよう依頼。 　　　『笹のしつく』と題された大江氏の書物が、百僧供養に合わせて完成し、供養参加者全員に 　　　配布されました。 　　　道明寺の庫裏が火事に遭った際、中世日本研究所の呼びかけにこたえて、多くの方々が再建に 　　　援助の手を差し延べてくださいました。 　　　その後、六條照瑞様の不撓不屈の精神で、お寺は見事に蘇りました。 　　　その際の各方面からの支援に御礼の意味も込め、この『笹のしつく』をCD-ROM にし、関心を 　　　持たれる方が気軽に道明寺の歴史に触れられるようにされました。 　　　このCD-ROM は、日本語で、Window およびMacに対応しており、日本の仏教を 　　　研究する方のみならず、一般の方にも興味深くご覧いただけます。 　　　付録として、J. スチュアート氏による英語の要約も収められています。 　　　六條照瑞様のご好意により中世日本研究所に寄贈されたこのCD-ROM は、無料（送料別）で 　　　配布しています。ご希望の方は、中世日本研究所、または、コロンビア大学中世日本研究所まで 　　　お問い合わせください。 　　　コロンビア大学 中世日本研究所 　　　Web ページアドレス：　http://www.columbia.edu/cu/ealac/imjs/ 　　　E-mail: medievaljapan@columbia.edu 　　　Domyoji CD-ROM 　　　　Abbess Shozui Rokujo, the dynamic head of Domyoji Convent, has presented 　　 the Institute for Medieval Japanese Studies with a large number of CD-ROMs 　　 which she commissioned in order to make available to the public the history of 　　 her convent and most particularly the struggles of an eminent predecessor, 　　 Abbess Shokei Kajui (1845-1899) to resurrect the convent from destruction 　　 by the anti-Buddhist policies and actions of the Meiji Restoration. 　　 In 1999, Abbess Shozui Rokujo held at Domyoji Convent a “hyakuso kuyo” or 　　 memorial service by one hundred nuns and monks to commemorate the 100th 　 　anniversary of Abbess Shokei’s death. Determined to make known to present-day 　　 nuns the severe hardships and humiliations suffered by Abbess Shokei, whose 　　 extraordinary actions made possible Domyoji’s survival, Abbess Shozui 　　 commissioned Mr. Takasuke Oe of the Musakoji Senke school of Tea to write 　　 a history of Domyoji incorporating quotations from the diary kept by Abbess 　　 Shokei during those years of crisis. Mr. Oe’s book, entitled “Sasa no shizuku” 　　 (Dewdrop on a Bamboo Leaf) was completed in time for that memorial service 　　 and was distributed to all participants. 　 　　As many of you know, shortly after that event, the nuns’ residence at 　 　Domyoji Convent burned to the ground. Many of the Institute’s friends and 　　 colleagues responded to our appeal for assistance to help rebuild. Since that 　　 time Abbess Shozui Rokujo’s truly extraordinary efforts in Japan have resulted 　　 in the complete restoration of all that was lost. Domyoji now stands in 　　 magnificent condition. She has assured the future of this convent and its 　　 great legacy.
